Rangers needs: a number one starter, they say the are shopping for a utility infielder, and they want to solidify the bullpen. Well they could have solidified the bullpen if they kept Feliz the closer and still brought in Joe Nathan, but now we need another guy. Please do not bring back Darren Oliver as they are thinking. He is to old and not worth the money. We have Scott Feldman to fill his role. If they need a L-RP, then look at Trever Miller, he is 3 years younger and has had success in the majors. As for a utility infielder, Jack Wilson fits the bill. He can't hit, but he has a great glove.
Now, for the starting pitching! Only re-sign C J Wilson for the right money, no more than 5 years for $75M. He is not a true number one starter. Then go after Mark Buehrle and bring him in as your number one starter. If you cannot get Buehrle, look at Rich Hardin to come in and eat up innings.
I hope the Rangers DO NOT go after either Albert Pujols or Prince Fielder. After Mitch Moreland recovers from his off season surgery, the team needs to give him the time and opportunity to see if he can be the 1B they need. The Rangers just need to make sure they secure Josh Hamilton and the core of our team.
